Antique Burmese rice basket with wooden base and a large opening at the top with a lid. The basket is woven and seems to be lacquered in black. It has vertical pieces of rattan, or some other natural grass or palm, that attach the wood base to the top of the basket.

Good overall antique condition, the main part of the basket is in great shape, just a bit worn with a small amount of lacquer loss. The lid is not in great shape as the woven material is separating from the frame, but it sits nicely on the basket. The wood base has patina including some discoloration, but it adds charm.
