Take a look at this mid-century beauty with its boho chic swagger! Handwoven from pencil reed bamboo in an open weave style with a solid bamboo wood bottom. The base has been wrapped in a split bamboo reed while the lip and front and back center panels have been accented with an over and under rattan trim. Bent bamboo handles are firmly screwed in place allowing the basket to be carried by the handles securely. The handles do fold down, as well. It’s an attractive basket that is large enough to accommodate anything you need stylishly tucked away but close at hand. It measures 17¼” x 11¼” W/D; height with handles down 7½”; handles up 14”; interior 16” x 9½” x 6½” W/D/H; weight 2 lbs. 11 oz.; colors are natural scorched bamboo; rattan trim is a chocolate brown hue with some reddish undertones. In excellent condition with minimal, age appropriate wear. It hails from the mid 1960s. This is a basket I acquired from a private collection, at auction, from the estate of a lady who was an avid basket collector. If you a collector of unique baskets, this should be a must to add to that collection!
