Enameled metal basket designed by Mathieu Matégot. Manufactured by Ateliers Matégot (France,) circa 1950. Lacquered perforated metal, it has some traces of rust. In original condition, with wear consistent with age and use, preserving a beautiful patina. Has some traces of rust and paint loses as shown on the photos. Mathieu Matégot (1910-2001) was a Hungarian and French designer and material artist. He was one of the most renowned French designers of the 1950s. This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker. It has no attribution mark and no
official proof of authenticity,
