An umbrella stand designed and produced by Mathieu Mategot from the 1950’s. The stand uses Mategot s own technique of combining metal tubes or rods with perforated metal sheet. Like fabric, Rigtulle could be bent or folded and shaped to give the furniture he designed transparency, weightlessness, and everlasting modernity. As you can see, all the aspects of Mategot ‘s signature can be found in this umbrella stand. This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker. It has no attribution mark and no
official proof of authenticity,
however it is well documented in design history. I take full responsibility for any authenticity
